Pizzini 'Makers Blend' White

Pale straw in colour. This dry and aromatic wine is super food friendly. Bursting with aromas of lemon sherbet, stone fruit, lychee, lemon blossom and lime, the enticing nose leads to a silky palate with notes of the peach, lime, lemon and nectarine. The smooth palate has great length, weight and acidity, resulting in a complex, morish wine. Drink now with friends or serve with Asian inspired food or fresh seafood such as gamberetti with aioli.

Our Maker’s Blend White is Joel’s take on a traditional Alsatian blend ‘Gentil d’Alsace’. The Riesling and Moscato parcels of fruit were crushed, de-stemmed and pressed lightly, while the Pinot Grigio parcel was only pressed to minimise extraction of colour and phenolics. Each batch of juice was then inoculated with an Alsatian yeast and they were fermented separately at a cool temperature (14 – 15 °C) to allow the best extraction of varietal expression and aromatics. After fermentation the different varietal batches were blended to find the perfect balance, then the wine spent four months in contact with yeast lees to add complexity and to give more roundness and texture before being bottled.
